Another semester is behind me, and it feels good. Final exam week was rough - I had one exam every day for five days straight, and by the time Friday rolled around, my brain was pretty much liquified. But, thanks to a beautiful invention I like to call caffeine, I pulled through.
The same day that I took my last exam of the semester, Justin came home from another two-week trip. It has been so good to have him home; at long last, it really feels like Christmas is coming! Today, we went Christmas shopping together and stopped at Zales to pick up my present, which Justin insisted had to be wrapped and put under the tree until Christmas morning. I didn't put up too much of a fight; I'll only have to wait 12 more days. Can you believe how fast this month seems to be going by all of a sudden? I know I can't!
Speaking of which, in just 10 days, my family, who I haven't seen in over a year, will be here with us! I am so incredibly excited to see them. What is Christmas without the people you love? Because of my amazing, thoughtful husband, my awesome in-laws and adorable niece, Emily, my loving parents and siblings, and my best friend, who is 21 weeks along with a sweet baby girl, I feel especially blessed this holiday season. I don't always take the time to look around and consider all that God has blessed me with, but let me tell you - it's a long list.
As December quickly ticks by, I'd like to challenge you to stop and take a few minutes to think about everyone you're thankful to have in your life. And if you haven't lately, let them know how much you love them! On the first Christmas, God gave the ultimate gift, and it is our responsibility to make sure that trees and presents and lights and stockings don't take away from the true meaning of the holiday. Don't get me wrong - I love Christmas and everything that comes with it. But it means so much more than all of these things, and I don't want any of us to forget that.
So, to you and yours, I wish you a wonderful Christmas season filled with love and joy!
Love and Lattés,
Katie
