Living smack dab in the middle of sunny South Carolina, we often have a dilemma. Colin loves to play outside, but it is just so hot outside, and I worry about him being in the sun too long or overheating. I've seen a few blog buddies and Pinterest friends post about how much their kids like to play with water outside, so I thought I'd give it a try. We don't have a fancy water table or anything, so I made do with the Bilibo. I grabbed a few water safe toys, threw them in, and added water. Then, I brought it outside and encouraged Colin to go to town! He was hesitant at first, but after a few minutes he was having a blast making some of the water spill out, splashing, and poking around at the toys inside to watch them bob up and down. I also threw in the top to one of his old bottles, and he used it like a cup, practicing his pouring skills. He even snuck a few drinks of water that way, silly boy.
When he decided he was finished playing in the water, Colin ran around in the sunshine to dry off. I love this little face so very much. I hope I remember his adorable toddler expressions forever!
We will definitely be trying some more water activities outside this summer!
