Due to a little miscommunication, I didn't have childcare lined up for today. On Friday, when I made this discovery, I let my boss know I'd be taking the day off. For about a second, I was bummed I'd have to take a vacation day. But my next thought was, "Yay! I get to be a stay at home mom for a day!" There have been very few Mommy/Colin days in the 9 months he's been with us, so I really look forward to the time we have to spend together, just the two of us.
Here's what we've done so far today:
I woke up at 6 am to hubby's alarm and realized Colin hadn't made a peep all night. Yay! He's been fussing at night lately, and I think it's due to teething.
Colin got a clean diaper and a 6 oz bottle, which he held all by himself. I love that he can do that now!
We watched some Mickey Mouse Club and my little dude crawled all over the living room floor, picking up and chewing on some toys. Poor guy also bumped his head on something (not very hard) and cried for a couple minutes. Snuggles with Mommy helped.
As he got back to playing with his toys, I sat down and had a nice, hot cup of coffee and a couple slices of buttered pumpkin bread for breakfast. YUM!
Colin spent some time in the jumperoo, had his breakfast (apricot, plum and whole grain baby food), pooped, and had his diaper changed.
After a little more playing and some pretty strong tired signals, Colin went back to bed around 8. It's 9:00 now, and he's still asleep. I've done a load of laundry and have watched a couple episodes of A Baby Story in my jammies. Don't judge, it's my day off! How often do I get to do this? :)
OH! By the way... how could I forget? We weighed and measured Colin because my little man is NINE months old today! Here are his stats:
Weight: 24.5 pounds (between 90 & 95th percentile)
Height: 30.75 inches (95th percentile)
I'm hoping to take some 9 month photos while we're home today, and maybe if he'll let me, I'll take a few of him in his Halloween costume! We're also going to venture out this afternoon to pick up some formula, baby food, and other stuff needed for the church daycare program he's starting tomorrow.
Working moms... what do you do when you get to stay home with your little one(s) for a day?
More to come!
