Thankful Thursday

It's been a while

since I've written

a Thankful Thursday post.

It's not that I don't have anything

to write about;

in fact, it's the exact opposite -

I am thankful for so many things right now

that sometimes I'm afraid I'd become repetitive

or not even know how to put

my thankfulness into words.

But, here I am -

writing a Thankful Thursday post.

It's about time! :)

Today, I am thankful

that it's the last day of September;

that October begins tomorrow,

and that fall is here -- for real!

It hasn't felt very "fall-ish"

here in South Carolina,

and sometimes the constant

warm weather, and the refusal

of the trees to change color

makes me long for Michigan.

But, I am thankful -

thankful for the sunshine,

thankful for the cool breeze

that has made its appearance lately,

thankful for the loveliness

of autumn mornings and evenings.

I am thankful

that today, I'm 22 weeks along,

and still feeling great.

I am so, so thankful

for my tiny son, my Colin,

and I am thankful

for my amazing, incredible husband

who has been great throughout

this pregnancy,

and who continues to be awesome.

He never ceases to amaze me.

Thank you, God, for all of the blessings

that constantly surround me every day!

21 weeks!

How far along? 21 weeks.

Due Date: February 3, 2011

Total weight gain/loss: +2 since I last weighed, +6 total

Maternity clothes? I am wearing maternity pants

pretty much all the time now.

Sleep: I have been tossing and turning

more often lately.. especially if I wake up

past 4 am to go to the bathroom.

Best moment this week: Feeling REAL kicks!

Movement: I feel little movements every day now,

and a good, hard kick every couple of days.

Food cravings: I don't know if I really craved them,

but bagels & cream cheese are SO good right now!

Food aversions: Nothing really.

Gender: It's a boy!

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? In. I have a really deep innie,

so I'll be surprised if it really pops out. We'll see!

What I miss: Espresso drinks. I may have to get

a tall latte sometime soon...

it's pumpkin spice season at SBUX!

What I am looking forward to: Getting started

on the nursery.

Milestones: Our little Colin should weigh about

1 pound this week. Grow, baby, grow!

Best moment this week: Being able to see our little one

moving around and playing with his feet on ultrasound.

I have felt a few decent kicks over the past few days!

Food cravings: Fresh fruit, and french fries with ketchup.

(I know, two totally different ends of the spectrum)

Food aversions: Nothing in particular.

Gender: It's a boy! :)

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? In.

What I miss: At the moment, I don't feel

like I'm missing out on anything.

I love being pregnant, and I love my son!

and our follow-up ultrasound in 4 weeks.

Big news!

We found out this morning

that our little one is... a...

BOY!

It was such a surreal moment

when the ultrasound tech

told us we were going to have

a little boy. A son!

We've already picked out his name-

Colin Justin.

We have known that would be his name

for quite a while.. even before we conceived

our little man.

Tonight, we went to

Once Upon a Child

with Justin's parents

to buy a few outfits for Colin.

For my son.

I can't stop saying that. :)

I can't wait to meet him!

We are both on cloud nine.

Pictures to come, as soon as

I get home (we are out of town)

and am able to upload them!

19 Weeks!

How far along? 19 weeks.

Due Date: February 3, 2011

Total weight gain/loss: +2 this week, +4 total.

Maternity clothes? I have several pairs

of maternity pants now, and they are

SO comfortable!

Sleep: I've had more trouble sleeping lately,

but I always make up for it on the weekend!

Best moment this week: Feeling more movement.

Movement: They're not pronounced kicks,

but I am sure I'm feeling baby, almost every day.

Food cravings: Not lately.

Food aversions: Nothing in particular.

Gender: We should be able to find out on Sept. 17th.

One more week!

Labor Signs: No, thank goodness.

Belly Button in or out? In.

What I miss: The ability to drink caffeine

and not feel all jittery!

What I am looking forward to: The "big ultrasound"

next Friday. Woohoo!

Milestones: Almost halfway there. Wow!

Also, last night I dreamed we had a baby girl.

Which is funny, because I've always

thought of this baby as a boy for some reason.

We will hopefully know in a week!

Food aversions: Nothing really.

Thankful Thursday, and Today in Pictures

On this Thankful Thursday,

I am thankful

that Justin and I have jobs

that pay the bills

and allow us to live in our

sweet little house

and that because of those jobs,

we never have to wonder

where our next meal is coming from

or how our child will be provided for.

I don't always feel thankful

when I wake up at 6 o'clock in the morning,

drowsily shower and shovel down some cereal,

and hop in the car for my 45 minute commute.

But you know what?

I really am thankful.

I may not feel it

when I have to say goodbye

to my husband for a week or two at a time,

but I know that sometimes

that's what his job asks of him.

And for that --

for the jobs we have,

and the money in our account

that pays the mortgage, and the bills --

I am so thankful.

And on a different note....

today, I am thankful

for the beauty of nature.

I am thankful that our Earth was created

by a God who knew exactly

what he was doing,

and who crafted this world

in a way that only He could.

For the interesting shapes and colors in our backyard...

...for the curious creatures, whether they be tiny...

...or not-so-tiny...

...or somewhere in the middle...

...for the sweet little blue egg that never hatched...

...and the intricate nest where it rests...

For all these things and more, I am thankful.
